Once in Open Dental you are now able to capture x-rays and attach intraoral photos with XVCapture.
Locate the XVCapture tab at the top of your screen in Open Dental and click into that tab.
Choose to Capture Image
Choose their file from the MRU (Most Recently Used) dropdown. The Patient ID# will begin with the 5 digit venue id. If you do not see the 5 digit venue id, do not proceed. Contact IT with a Helpdesk Ticket
Click Capture Images.
Select the device you are going to use to capture the x-ray (whichever system your practice uses).
From here a screen will appear where you can choose the progression/mount or tooth you would like to x-ray. To see more progressions just scroll down. Double click on your needed x-ray.
Click on Start Progression Capture.
Once the capture area turns green you are good to take the image.
Take your x-ray with your x-ray device. Once it is processed it will populate to your screen. You may need to label which tooth you have captured by double clicking on the tooth x-rayed in the dialog box that appears.
The system will automatically set up for the next capture. You can stop this process by clicking Stop The Capture Sequence on the left side of your screen.
Double click on the x-ray to enter that image for more options like adding an intraoral image.
To add an intraoral image to the x-ray you will click on the Capture Additional Images at the top left of your screen after you enter that image.
Then click on Capture Additional Images Into This Series
Choose the device your practice uses that you will use to capture your image.
Choose the tooth/progression you are going to capture by double clicking on your choice.
Take your picture when the dialog box pops up and click Done.
You then will see your x-ray and intraoral photo together
If you need to retake an image click on the image you want to retake and click Take/Retake Selected Entry.
Click Save and Go Back in the right bottom of your screen once you are finished.
