Create and Maintain Contact Labels

Personal email groups can be created and maintained in Google Contacts. Called Labels, these groups can allow you to round up contacts that you frequently email at the same time.

Unlike Google Groups, these Contact Labels are not public and cannot be shared with other users.

To create a new Contact Label open Google Contacts and look for the + Create Label option. Give your label a name, like “The A Team”.

You can go through your personal Contacts, your most Frequently contacted, or the company Directory for contacts. Mouse over their picture (or initial) and it’ll become a checkbox. Check whoever you want to add – one at a time is fine, or you can select multiple people at once.

Then move your mouse to the top and hit the Manage labels button. Click the label you created earlier, and then click Apply. If you want to add your selection to multiple Labels, just repeat the last step.

When you’re maintaining your Contact Labels, you can use the same methods to remove users, or you can open up the Label and select whoever you like there. Then click the 3-dot menu , and select Delete.
