You have received your new PC and are anxious to get it installed. What happens to the documents that are on the old PC? Who will set up my printer? Who do I notify before I switch the PC out? Should I switch the PC out myself? This checklist is meant to help guide you through the process.

On your original PC (if it still boots):

  1. Go to https://drive.google.com   -  Every Mortenson Team Member has access to their own personal cloud drive.  Use this drive to store any documents you want to keep and move to the new PC.

  2. Put a ticket in with the Help Desk that you received a new PC and it is to replace the PC with the name of OLD PC NAME.  The Help Desk will remote in and take a few notes of connected printers, etc… to make sure the new PC has the same information

    1. Do you want us to schedule a field tech to install/upgrade the PC?

      1. If Yes - what is a good day and time

    2. Where is this replacement PC going to be installed

      1. Operatory

      2. Doctor’s Office

      3. Front Desk

      4. Other (ex. Laptop)

    3. What inventory of software can be installed

      1. Fast Attach / EDS Bridge

      2. Mouthwatch IOC or Document scanner

      3. Imaging Software (Dexis, Vixwin, Carestream/Trophy)

      4. Xray Sensor(s)

      5. Dosespot

      6. Other

If you do not need a field tech and are OK to switch out the PC:

  1. After Help Desk has the inventory noted, you will be OK to unplug the old PC and plug in the new PC. Please refer to guide for where to plug what cable in. (If you run into trouble or need a tech to install the new PC, please update your ticket to let us know.)

  2. After booting the new PC to the desktop, please update your ticket to let us know it’s now online and ready for the help desk to install practice software.

What should I do with my old PC?

  1. Package it up in the same box the new PC arrived in and ship it to Linn Station for recycling.
