(most software you will need should be found in the offices IT folder)

1. Check that Vixwin is up to date at least to version 3.6.3

2. Update GxPicture and select GXS-700 sensors. If the office is only using GXS-700 sensors then any version 3.8.1 and new will work. If older than 3.8.1 update.

3. Locate the GXS700 CorrectFiles Folder in the offices O drive and install the sensor files to the local PC ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Gendex\GXS700_CorrectionFiles )

(If this is a new sensor, it should come with a CD that the office loads into a PC to install correction files. Be sure to copy to the O drive if you are installing a new sensor)

(the installer should install all the correction files that are found in the same folder as the "GXS-700_Sensor_Files.exe")

4. After those have all be installed reboot the PC, you should have the GXS sensor icon in the system tray now. When a sensor is plugged up the box should turn green.

TIPS:

If a staff reports no sensors are working on their PC, but the sensors work on other PCs. Try installing KAVO Legacy IO driver and rebooting. Found in an offices OfficeApps Gendex folder ( Example O:\OpenDentImages\OfficeApps\GendexSoftware\KaVo Legacy IO Sensor Drivers\3.6.7 )

Check if its a possibly USB hub issue.

Warranty Status:

Sensors are under warranty for 4 Years total, the first 2 years after time of purchase, the sensors are covered by Kavo/Dexis. After the 2 year manufacture warranty is up then they are covered for an additional 2 years through Patterson.

When checking a warranty status, you have to call Kavo/Dexis support to troubleshoot the sensor, they are then able to use the SN# to check if the sensors are still under warranty. If still under warranty with Dexis, they should send a replacement out to the office.

If the warranty with Dexis has expired, then we will need to check the Patterson warranty. The best way to do that is send an email to Tabby Riggs with all the following information, and she will reach out to our local Patterson equipment rep. Please note to the office to keep the sensor somewhere handy as it will be sent back to either Dexis or Patterson.

1. Office Name and Address -

2. Size of Sensor -

3. Estimated Purchase Date -

4. Serial Number of Sensor

5. Ticket Number from call with Dexis/Kavo of checking warranty with them.
