1. Install the IXS driver. Either from the the O drive, CD that came with the sensor, or from Dexis's website.

2. IXS driver should install "KAVO Software Manager" If installed you can launch and select "Check For Updates" which should update the needed software for the IXS sensor.
3. GxPicture Version 4 or newer is needed for the IXS sensor. Check "KaVo IXS/DEXIS Titanium: under Intraoral Sensors.
(If the office is using both GXS-700 and IXS, will want to ensure that both boxs are checked)
4. Install Kavo Legacy IO Driver and reboot PC ( can be found in offices O drive if not available on KAVO software manager. O:\OpenDentImages\OfficeApps\GendexSoftware\KaVo Legacy IO Sensor Drivers\3.6.7)
5. Should now have an IXS box appearing next to GxPicture. Have staff test sensor and confirm it is working.
(box should light up green when sensor is connected)
If the office uses IXS and GXS there should be 2 boxes.
TIPS:
If a staff reports no sensors are working on their PC, but the sensors work on other PCs. Try installing KAVO Legacy IO driver and rebooting. Found in an offices OfficeApps Gendex folder ( Example O:\OpenDentImages\OfficeApps\GendexSoftware\KaVo Legacy IO Sensor Drivers\3.6.7 )
Check if its a possibly USB hub issue.
Sensors are under warranty for 4 Years total, the first 2 years after time of purchase, the sensors are covered by Kavo/Dexis. After the 2 year manufacture warranty is up then they are covered for an additional 2 years through Patterson.
When checking a warranty status, you have to call Kavo/Dexis support to troubleshoot the sensor, they are then able to use the SN# to check if the sensors are still under warranty. If still under warranty with Dexis, they should send a replacement out to the office.
If the warranty with Dexis has expired, then we will need to check the Patterson warranty. The best way to do that is send an email to Tabby Riggs with all the following information, and she will reach out to our local Patterson equipment rep. Please inform the office to keep the sensor somewhere handy as it will be sent back to Patterson or Dexis.

5. Ticket Number from call with Dexis/Kavo of checking warranty with them.
